Interview for BRAINFREEZE.de
So I just finished my first major comics interview for BRAINFREEZE.de the largest Dutch-language comics news site. They caught wind of GIRL&BOY last week, took it upon themselves to give me this very flattering review of the comic, then they came at me for a look into my inspirations for GIRL&BOY and a little of my history and process.
The site itself is in Dutch but because I don’t...

Race and GIRL&BOY; Let's clear this up...
I originally added this as a caption in response to someone questioning the decisions behind naming a black character Boy. I’m no good at Tumblr and I messed up something in my dashboard and that’s not showing up, so I’m just reposting my response here instead…
The reason it’s Girl&Boy and not for instance Woman&Man (or Man&Man or Woman&Woman) is entirely...
fenix-boden asked: How do I get the digital version here in the US. All I saw on your store were UK prices and I would very much like to have it the digital version. Thanks :)
darnell5000 asked: Will Girl & Boy be available in the US at some point?

Bristol Comic Expo 2012
I need to start this off by saying I had the best time. It’s important that you note that now before I go into more detail. The weather, the city, and the fans all meant me and my booth partner Mark Penman (whose blog account of it is here) had a great weekend exhibiting at what was once the UK’s brightest and best convention, as the photos will attest.
I was already a little salted...

No Sleep. No Sleep Till (after) Bristol.
So Bristol Comic Expo went off at the weekend. Like any convention it was mad eventful and I’ll do a real blog write-up with all my thoughts, thankyous, shout-outs, complaints and praise soon… but right now this little guy is spent. The travel, the parties, the sun, the beautiful women of the South and just the satisfaction of seeing all you people come through to support me on my...

GIRL&BOY on Juxtapoz
So my comic GIRL&BOY landed on the pages of the Juxtapoz blog this week. You can click the image to go straight to it and Tweet/+G/Reblog to your heart’s content. I’m a big fan of the magazine so it was cool to see my own work up there under the Juxtapoz banner.
Also, not a lot of comics make it to the blog so I’m extra glad that it managed to go somewhere that is off the...
Updates: Thought Bubble 2012
Well it’s official. I’m going to be heading back to Leeds this year for Thought Bubble 2012. I’ll be exhibiting for the second time and I am already excited. It’s way too early for me to say what you can expect to see from me there, and there are other conventions I’ll be appearing at first that I need to give care and attention to first. But Thought Bubble is my...

Self-Portrait - 2012
I havn’t done one of these in years. Rations Magazine needed a shot for my feature in their latest issue (get on it HERE ) so I put this together. Inspired by night-time photography, limited palettes and that noir kick I can’t seem to get off.
You really should get on that Rations tip asap. A year from now they’re going to be the big-tings.
In other news, GIRL&BOY...

Or at least, that’s what I think I said.
So after 12 months of the most drama ever...

Well it’s official. The first ever Thought Bubble Anthology will now be coming out through independent giant Image Comics and I am in it. A New Challenger Approaches
I just saw a short movie called Codes of Honor about video gaming by Canadian director John Raffman inspired by the death of the famous ‘Chinatown Fair Arcade’ in New York and it reminded me of my own gaming memories, way way back before ‘gamer’ became a noun.
I grew up in arcades; arcades in holiday camps, arcades on cruise ships, arcades in leisure centers. For...
Sell Out
My latest good news is that both debut creator-owned books by my friends Adam Cadwell (Blood Blokes) and Jeffry ‘Chamba’ Cruz (Random Veus) have sold out. Both had work in by myself too, so now is your cue to bug them both to print more. Good job boys, all is well in the cosmos.

SDCC Preview Night...
So Preview Night happened. These days my Wednesday nights at Comic Con involve me running between the crowds to track down all my homies from around the world and find out where they’re staying, where the parties are going to be at and grabbing any art books that are likely to sell out… whilst dodging the hordes of merchandise/free-swag obsessives.
