Difference on Display Seminar – A Response to the Niet Normaal Exhibition
I’m going to speaking at this event at the Bluecoat in Liverpool next week about my work for DaDa Fest’s exhibition NIET NORMAAL and my part in it. So if you want to come by and pick my brains about my work I did with disabled comedian Laurence Clark, this is your opportunity. Tickets are free and you can get them by clicking the picture below.
Session 1 – 1.30pm – 3pm A discussion around the themes of the exhibition. Why is it important to create work that brings focus to body politics? The truth or myth of social change – is it survival of the fittest or survival of the un-fittest?
Session 2 – 3.15pm – 4.30pm Responses from artists about exhibiting or commissioning in a disability and Deaf arts festival context. Is this work about afflicting the comfortable or comforting the afflicted?
Free. Book by calling the Bluecoat on 0151 702 5324 or emailinginfo@thebluecoat.org.uk
Funded by Liverpool Hope University.
